2 Reasons to feel pity for Joe Powell

It never rains but pours for Joe.

Kensington and Bayswater has a vast swathe of £1.5 m properties. If the VOA has its way, many will be dragged into the £2m plus mansion tax Labour plans to inflict on us. The vast majority of owners are not rich in either cash or assets….they probably have a huge mortgage. The additional tax will severely damage them. How will Joe persuade them to grin and bear it? The Dame thinks that they will turn on Joe with venom.

Joe’s other cross to bear is having to work for that MasterMind genius, David Lammy…..the man who thinks juries should be scrapped. Joe is a patient man. Minding a clown like Lammy will be a real test

Joe knows that he will suffer shafting at the next election owing to the Council Tax surcharge. He wants to stay in with Starmer’s lot so he won’t speak out. He will be looking for a safer seat next time round and for doing the good socialist bloke routine he will be rewarded with a better seat to fight next time.

What you really mean by Powell getting a better seat to fight the next time round is a parliamentary seat which does not contain as many properties with a value of over £2 million which is the case in Kensington and Bayswater.

My home is worth just over £2 million. I paid £200, 000 for it donkey’s years ago after I sold my parents’ house and paid Inheritance Tax.

I only have an income of £ 15, 000 in retirement and £1,500 in savings. I cannot get money out of the bricks and mortar to pay the £2,000 Council Tax surcharge. I suppose I shall have to go to prison every year for non payment of the Council Tax. I am not looking forward to doing 60 days in the nick just because I cannot afford to pay the extra £2,000. It will cost the Government around £6,000 a year to lock me up for 60 days. I would not mind but the Government will get 40% of the value of my house when I die after deducting the £ 325, 000 IHT threshold.

We have a plan for the likes of you. Can’t pay? No prison but you will be put up to serve your sentence with the illegal immigrants(no, they are not asylum seekers) We have some lovely hotels for you
You should have planned for the Mansion Tax years ago. Some careful saving from your £15000 and you would have been fine

It is alright for the Reeves woman. She now dons very expensive, stylish well cut, designer outfits, probably courtesy of Harrods, with the good Lord Ali picking up the bill. She looked very dowdy when she paid for her own clothes and wore what she could afford from Marks and Spencer’s.

Labour will provide ” targeted support” for those who cannot pay the £2,000 Council Tax surcharge. I do not know if you will be “targeted’ for a handout. Sorry to hear that you might have to go to prison because you cannot afford to pay an extra £2,000.

Jo, I suppose you are one of those mean spirited people who believe that people should be taxed out of existence to pay for benefits for the likes of you and support for the illegal immigrants here and arriving daily. You are a disgrace with your bullshit ‘targeted support’. The sooner Labour is sent into long term exile the better

Labour’s “targeted support” for those who cannot afford to pay the £2, 000 yearly Council Tax surcharge because they own a property worth over £ 2 million will be very simple indeed. They will arrange to support asset rich and cash poor people with specialist finance workers employed in every Town Hall to support people in filling out an “Equity Release” loan application so that they will have the money to pay the surcharge.
