A SIGN OF STUPIDITY

We are told that electric vehicles are the answer to urban pollution, yet when non-residents use car charging points nothing on the signs tells them that the charging points are for the use of RBK&C residents only

In fact, the sign seems an open invitation to all EV users….so non-residents, misled by the sign, end up facing removal and massive penalties.

Has not one council officer thought it might be intelligent to add to the upper sign RBK&C PERMIT HOLDERS ONLY

The signage could be clearer. I suppose the Council will say that it is relying on the sign below. to restrict the bay to Resident Permit Holders Only.

Kensington and Chelsea’s Officers do not have the gumption or intelligence to devise an unambiguous sign which says

“Electric vehicle charging point: For the use of Resident Permit Holders only.”

    They are shafting the public.

If the Council put up signage like this in Dalgrano, Notting Dale, Golborne or Kensal, Labour Councillors would be up in arms because the public is being conned. Children (whose parents had their cars impounded and had to pay fines) might have to go without food so that the family car could be restored to the parents for essential journeys.

I suppose the well-heeled Tory Councillors representing Knightsbridge and Brompton consider the vehicle impound fee as nothing more than small change or pin money – money that one fritters away in a nail bar or on piss upon with the Chelsea cheps.

Tory Councillors in the south of the borough need to earn their keep. Picking up a generous allowance and sitting on their laurels is money for old rope.
