RED….GREEN…(BLUE?)

Former Labour chair now chairing the Greens!

Former Labour chair and Emma Dent Coad’s right hand man, David Kear has not only joined the Green Party, he is now the Co Chair.

The question is will his BFF and mentor follow suit?

Cllr Dent Coad switched wards last local elections from Golborne to St Helen’s Ward but there’s a problem with that now. She left the Labour Party and won’t get reelected if she stands again.

Dent Coad’s Kensington and Bayswater General Election bid last year ended with her losing her deposit.

St Helen’s is a two party ward that only ever has a decent sized vote for either Labour or the Conservatives. No vote for Greens and no vote for independents.

Mona Adam is the only Green Party councillor after she defected from Labour and there is a sizable population of disaffected leftwingers in the ward.

Golborne is the only ward that the Greens have a chance of winning in.

So if Emma Dent Coad wants to stand as a councillor again, and if David Kear wants to work to get her back in the Town Hall again, she’ll have to switch wards – and go back to Golborne all over again!

Don’t you just wish some people would just make up their minds and stick with it?

If Dent Coad does stick with St Helens as independent or alternatively under a Green party banner, the likelihood is that it will go blue

Emma Dent Coad suffered a horrendous shafting at the last General Election!

She stupidly thought that Grenfell needed her Corbynite agenda but the majority of Kensington had the good sense to reject that Marxist Leninist prospect which incorporated the hard left’s latest encyclical of antisemitism.

Dent Coad is nothing without Sir Keir’s Labour Party backing. But the girl has an ego, she blew in excess of £58, 000 on her campaign at the last General Election. I think Dent Coad will stand in Notting Dale and parade Jeremy Corbyn MP and Diane Abbott MP around the area on her campaign to get back in at the Town Hall.

Are the Emmaites who are still sitting in the Town Hall under the Labour Party banner still going to be deselected before the local election? Miss Trotwood has been quiet for a long time and she knows everything so perhaps she might tell us.

I have not been able to get the “full SP” on whether Labour is still going to deselect the “Emmaites.” By the “Emmaites,” do you mean those complicit in shafting Councillors Press, Henderson, Nail, and Healey. Labour lost excellent councillors with all that malarkey back in 2022.

EDC is politically green. She went a shade of green when call me “Flicka” saw her off in 2019. It is a pity that Flicka got in, I voted for Sam Gymiah.

Emma was very emotional when Felicity Buchan defeated her. It was so painful to see her decline to shake victor’s hand which is what every good loser always does.
Portillo did it at his defeat to Stephen Twigg in Enfield Southgate in 1997 – just what one would expect from a good Tory gent.

Emma, the red, was Green with envy in 2019.

The Greens need to be aware that there is a possibility that they could be subjected to the dirty tricks of Trotskyite Entryism if left wing control freaks join their number.

The Green Party is proud of its “Red” socialist roots.

I am not sure that there will be many Green Marxists living in Council flats in the North of the Borough. The Green Marxists will all have had good jobs prior to retirement and will be living in the beautiful properties in Notting Hill, Campden Hill and Holland Park.

I am not sure that EDC “parading” around Grenfell, arm in arm, with Corbyn and Abbott did her any good. People knew that they were not voting for Jeremy or Di.

If Emma Dent Coad stands in your bit of Kensington and, if you don’t want her, vote her out.

    Vote Labour!

Would the Greens grant EDC membership of their Party?

It is said that, in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire, the mob mounted a political demonstration outside Councillor Feilding Mellen’s home. He and his family had to flee for their safety. EDC reportedly cycled by and came across this spectacle by chance. She observed this vision and enjoyed this very bad behaviour.

The Greens are different to the main political parties. I do not think they would like any of their members to have this disgraceful behaviour on their political CV’s. It is the sort of thing that revolutionary communists advocate and the Greens are sound political thinkers.

Emma Dent Coad claims to have answers for the hard left.

It is hard to believe what “Cuddly” Emma Dent Coad says in the Communist Morning Star online.

Dent Coad is the woman who did not speak out when the Tory led Tenant Management Organisation shafted tenants when she was a Council Nominated Director of it from 2008 to 2012. She let ’em suffer that’s what she did.

      Time for a straightener.

Dent Coad did not stop the TMO treating tenants like sh*t when she was on the TMO Board for four years of tumultuous, non-productive, turmoil.

She told me that she did not want to rock the boat because she believed that the Tory Council might privatise Council housing if too many complaints went in.

She misjudged it with catastrophic consequences.

Pragmatism? She was supremely confident when she took the line of least resistance. She always knew best.

Dent Coad got it wrong. Privatisation of Council flats never did see the light of day.

The Grenfell disaster occurred because the TMO’s powers what be became too powerful courtesy of ineffective councillors who failed to take them on. So, there was never any change in the way TMO tenants were bullied. The TMO became more expert at it with experience. If the TMO changed from bullying tenants to listening to them, the brains in the Grenfell Action Group could have achieved much over the incompetent , well paid shower, running the TMO.

    Rock the boat

I thought Emma’s approach when she was on the TMO lacked thoroughness and rigour. I have no doubt that she is capable of a robust and systematic approach to solving problems. However, EDC pulled her horns in and assented to the excesses of TMO Executive Directors and Senior Management; all because she anticipated the privatisation of council flats and did not want to make waves – never mind “rock the boat.”

Gordon Perry and Redmond Lee introduced “Fun Days” for TMO tenants when EDC was on the Board. They hired a bouncy castle for residents to jump around on at these so called “Fun Days.” Being a tenant of the TMO was stressful, acrimonious and very difficult- a far cry from “fun.” EDC told me that that TMO had to do this because the Central Government (Labour) required it. No wonder rents and other charges were so high!

He also resigned ” pretty sharpish,” after he left the TMO, as Chairman of a Housing Association which provided housing to the Irish community.

How does Cllr. Elizabeth Campbell, Cllr. Quentin Marshall, and Cllr Emma Dent-Coad sleep at night? They were all Council Appointed Non-Executive Directors of the TMO when the damming investigation of the TMO by Maria Memoli was presented to the TMO Board in 2009/ 2010. They are still elected members of the Council to this very day receiving generous payments courtesy of the Council Tax payer.

The Grenfell Tower Inquiry found that the TMO had an opportunity to reset and change its practices back in 2009 when Memoli’s Report was presented to the TMO Board and the Council. One would expect Councillors serving on the Board to take the lead in driving these vitally important changes particularly a hard line and “cuddly” left wing opposition Councillor who later told the House of Commons that she knew the “culture” of the TMO.

The disaster at Grenfell may have been avoided if Councillors did what they ought to have done – they could have stopped the TMO dead in its oppressive and bullying tracks and relations at Grenfell over the refurbishment may well have been more balanced and productive and, certainly less confrontational and toxic.

Robert Black, former TMO Chief Executive at the time the Memoli Report was submitted and, at the time of the Grenfell fire, told the Inquiry that he did not remember reading it. The Council spent a small fortune on that Report and the TMO Chief Executive does not remember reading it. I suppose we cannot expect too much from a former Art Student but one does expect better from trusted and respected Councillors.

Well, it seems this dynamic trio of Councillors may not have read the Memoli Report either. If they did read it, they did not do anything about it because if they had done so Robert Black would remember all that they had to say and would have been forced to address the litany of incompetence, the mismanagement, the bullying of tenants, and the oppressive and dirty tricks to which the TMO resorted.

It is disappointing that Joe Powell MP has not called for the resignation of these three Councillors who should have hung their heads in shame when their failure to act was called out by Sir Martin Moore-Bick KC.

Campbell, Marshall and Dent Coad have much for which to reproach themselves.

Joe Powell MP is as ineffectual as his predecessors Felicity Buchan and Emma Dent Coad.

When I think of the Greats that we had representing Kensington in former times – Alan Clark, Michael Portillo and Sir Malcolm Rifkind.

Evil triumphed because capable councillors did nothing.

It is hard to have any respect Emma Dent Coad, Elizabeth Campbell or Quentin Marshall. None of them tried to bring about change at the TMO.

The Memoli Report spelled out without equivocation exactly where the TMO was at fault and how it was failing some seven years before the Grenfell fire destroyed 72 people’s lives and ruined the lives of everyone who survived.

If these Councillors had acted responsibly, seven years before the fire, there would have been a period of three years to change the TMO before the Grenfell Refurbishment came on to the agenda.

But these Councillors did nothing to implement reform at the TMO. These three could have started the process and their successors on the TMO Board would have been charged with progressing further changes to ensure the TMO was fit for purpose instead of the disaster that everyone knew it was.

I thought the Tories believed in taking “personal responsibility” for their failures. So, why haven’t Marshall and Campbell accepted “personal responsibility” for their shortcomings over the Memoli Report in to the TMO? As Directors of the TMO, they should have both taken the Report seriously and acted on it? They just wanted to coast through and take the money they get from the Council without taking personal responsibility. Nice work if you can get it!

The concept of “personal responsibility” is an anathema in the socialist creed and left wingers are past masters at shifting blame instead of acknowledging their bad calls. Dent Coad just wanted the money too. The Greens would be wise to give Emma Dent Coad a wide berth.

      1. Personal Responsibility. Avatar
        Personal Responsibility.

Campbell and Marshall believe that “personal responsibility” only applies to others; not them.

Young girls getting pregnant without solid financial support behind them and then seeking access to Council housing is the stuff of their version of “personal responsibility.”

For this pair, Poverty is the fault of the individual. If only feckless people would accept “personal responsibility” and get of their arses to help themselves, and get a job, how much better the world would be without having to tax the likes of them.

Failing to take action on a damming report about the failings of the TMO, long before the Grenfell fire is an unfortunate, unforeseen, disaster; unintended consequences and all that “structural jazz.” Taking “personal responsibility” for failing to act over the Memoli Report would never do. They were Directors of the TMO, a Limited Company, and they did nothing about the Memoli Report thus taking their lead from their ineffectual Executive, the Cabinet Members of the Council. Not “rocking the boat” so the flagship Tory Council did not sail at half mast was what was expected of every good Tory as they both knew only too well. Disgarceful!

EDC gave the impression to Kensington voters that she was an ardent remainer in the EU Referendum.

So the Green Party would be lucky to have her join them because they are also fervently Pro-European.

But would Lady Luck be smiling on the Greens on election night?

EDC was exposed by the leading EU Remain think tank as less than sound in her support for remaining in the EU. She bent her knee to Corbyn’s hatred of the EU on the sly and let Kensington think she was a solid remainer.
