Joe praises useless Labour councillors

You have to feel sorry for Joe. His other job is babysitting the buffoon David Lammy.

In an attempt to raise us all from pre-election torpor Joe, without much enthusiasm, tried to persuade us of the effectiveness of the Labour Group on RBK&C.

Don’t waste your time, Joe. The Labour Group used to have talented people. Now, led by the member for Somalia, Cllr Ali, it has become a laughing stock.

Joe says the following…

The Labour candidates have been clear they would improve value for money, while also retaining twice-weekly bin collection and borough-wide parking permits.

the idea of this bunch of no-hopers knowing about value for money is risible.

I remember EDC saying the same crap about Labour councillors.

The boy, Powell, has been a major disappointment.

He wants us to vote for the Emmaites just because they are Labour and are wearing the red rosette. By rights, the Emmaites should have been deselected and sent packing. We have been deprived of outstanding candidates like Ian Henderson because the Labour Party cannot efficiently shaft poor quality councillors.

Why should we vote for the Emmaites? It would be liking voting for the best from poor quality material.

    The Emmaites are all Corbynistas.

Like al thosel on the lethal left, all that they wanna do is spend, spend, spend.

And that means spend our money.

How can I do what Joe Powell wants of me and vote Labour?

The Corbynite Emmaites are incapable of Rachel Reeve’s sound fiscal management. They are financially feckless and totally profligate and that’s because they are not Labour.

I suppose I can always vote Lib Dem instead.

Joe Powell MP is praising the very same people who supported Corbyn and opposed his candidature for the parliamentary seat of Kensington and Bayswater. Weird.

Joe is no longer credible. With any luck, he will get “shafted” at the next General Election.

All MP’s get shafted in the end.

    Remember,

    Lady Borwick,
    Ms. Dent Coad,
    Ms. Buchan,

Even the great and the good of the Labour Party get shafted, remember,
Dennis Skinner, the formidable Labour Beast of Bolsover. Even Mrs Thatcher was shafted by her Tory cabinet.

The question for Joe is not “if” he will be sent packing, but “when.”

So, buck your ideas up, Joe, my lad if you want to get in for another term.

  8. Why did Joe Powell fail to call for the resignation of three Councillors after the publication of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Report Avatar
Why did Joe Powell fail to call for the resignation of three Councillors after the publication of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Report

The Grenfell Tower Inquiry found the Council and the former Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) Board seriously wanting for not doing anything to “reset the TMO” following the publication of the Memoli Report in 2010.

Councillors Campbell, Marshall and Dent Coad were all Council Appointed Directors of the TMO at the time when the Memoli Report was published. They are all culpable for allowing the TMO to soldier on with its culture of bullying tenants and its incompetent housing management practices. The Chairman of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry found it egregious that the TMO failed to act on the recommendations in the Memoli Report. A massive lost opportunity to change things which had catastrophic consequences with the loss of 72 lives and countless survivors lives ruined.

Campbell, Marshall, & Dent Coad and have served the Council up until recently.
They have done very nicely out of it too.

Campbell has been picking up a very generous stipend for being Leader of the Council since the Grenfell Tower fire.

Marshall has been very well paid for being a Cabinet Member.

Dent Coad drew the Leader of the Opposition’s very generous allowance and when she was sidelined from that role she received the very nice payment for being a backbench councillor.

As none of three mentioned above had the decency to accept responsibility for their shortcomings, it fell to Joe Powell MP to demand their resignations and he did not demand that the heads of these three should roll.

The writing is on Starmer’s wall.

I can see the writing on Powell’s wall too.

Being an MP is a temporary job.

When Labour selected Joe, he pledged to ‘Seek justice for Grenfell.’

    Hasn’t he done well?

He did not call for the resignations of two Tories and one Corbynista who came away from the disaster unscathed holding their elected offices. They went on serving as Councillors after criticism from the Inquiry Chairman of the Council’s failure to act on the Memoli Report. Responsibility for this failure to improve the management of council housing lies fairly and squarely at the doors of those Councillor Directors of the TMO: Campbell (Con) Marshall(Con) and Dent Coad (without party).

Tell the political classes of Kensington and Chelsea what you think of them.

Write “none of the above” on your ballot paper.

Because they all talk a lot sh*t.

It is a pity that Joe did not speak out and tell the Labour Party’s powers that be that is was essential for all of the ‘Emmaites’ to be cleared out of the Council Chamber otherwise the Party would lose all credibility with voters. Getting rid of the ‘Emmaites’ should have been a no brainer.

According to the polls, the Greens are set to Hackney and Lewisham Councils which have only ever been Labour since 1964.

None of the above sounds good to me.

Show me one of them Labour, Tory, Reform, Green or Lib Dem that doesn’t “talk a lot of sh*t.” They all fail to deliver.

We get Mr Powell’s news briefings, etc., and there’s just too much boasting. Yet another ‘big I am’ on the political front. But nothing said about the Winter Fuel Allowance or about Khan’s approving of the Oxford Street pedestrianisation, despite Westminster’s Labour Council being against it, and the sending of all buses and taxis via already busy residential streets. Or about local planning issues – other than opposing betting places but ignoring the huge impact, the Sainsbury’s site development will have, on Ladbroke Grove and for miles around, but will deliver little impact on the council waiting list for housing. These are but a few and a snapshot, and, as a Labour voter for 60 years, I find myself without a party to vote for. Many of my neighbours feel the same. Despite registering to vote, I’m disenfranchised. We really do need a ‘None of the Above’ box on ballot papers.
